❖ An user-friendly way to produce PDFs

VipRiser is extensible virtual PDF printer

Its main purpose is to produce a PDF from any application that can print. An user can customise the entire process with Automator workflows, turning VipRiser into powerful publishing platform. Although the purpose is very similar to other solutions out there, it offers some unique features that others do not.

  • User-friendly user interface
  • Fully customisable using Automator plugins
  • Supports AppleScript scripting
  • Can be called from other Automator workflows
  • PDFs can be sent directly to iTunes, DropBox or Kindle
  • Printed files can be accessed using RSS feed (HTTP server built-in)
  • Raw postscript driver for advanced processing (e.g. using Ghostscript)

What makes it different from the others

compare to OS X built-in PDF services:

  • prints PDF from any application, including those not supporting PDF servers, namely Adobe products
  • shareable over the network

compare to CUPS-PDF:

❖ supports Yosemite OS X 10.10

  • provides user-friendly user interface
  • no PS to PDF conversion, PDF are generated directly resulting in smaller files and no quality degradation
  • integrates with Automator workflows for post-processing

NOTE: VipRiser contains alternative driver that uses the same PPD as CUPS-PDF

Integrate VipRiser directly into your workflow

Great stuff! I used this app to print one of these annoying Acrobat PDF files with forms. Acrobat has a personalised print window and doesn’t allow us to “print to pdf”, which is really a backwards issue. You app solves it flawlessly. Thanks a lot!

When will VipRiser support Mac os 10.10 Yosemite?

  4. Hyper Vivid says:

Is there an uninstall for this app? How can I remove all that was installed?

  5. Matteo says:

    Hello everyone,

I recently installed autocad for mac and having snow leopard can not install the latest update of vipriser. Where can I find the version that can be installed for Snow Leopard ?! Thanks in advance

  6. A lot of people seem to have trouble finding this little gem. I have added an answer over at StackOverflow to lead people to VipRiser –

Clicking gets a 404, so I may write here
    I like this software!
Would it be possible to choose/change the filename at printing a PDF?
    Looking forward

    Kind regards

Do you mean like print a document to PDF and add it to the TagoMan?

      • AD says:

I believe the poster is asking for a dialog box that enables something similar to “save as” which appears when saving a doc as pdf using the normal print process.

  8. How can I get an iPad / iPhone to see VipRiser in the print options ? I already “shared printer in the network”… but nothing shows up

  9. katie says:

can someone help me please it seems that it will not go out of pause mode

  10. Chris says:

Trying to get it to print an Illustrator file, but all I get is “Illustrator does not support Print Preview” I tried the standard, the cups and the PS printer. All gave me the same error. The vipriser app is active, also. I have OSX 10.10.4.

  11. can someone help me too please it seems that it will not go out of pause mode.

  12. Patrick says:

Same “Pause” problem as noted by others. In addition, I can not find the VipRiser Preferences that the screen shots here show. VipRiser shows in the printer preferences and as a selection in the Print dialog boxes, but no VipRiser Preferences are to be found.

  13. Ned says:

Same problem for me, when running via Automator it hangs up because the VipRiser printer has paused.

  14. Ned says:

By the way, on the above, VipRiser is open at the time.

  15. Ian says:

Yep, continuously paused despite VipRiser running. Help!

  16. Roger says:

When will this support The Captain (El Capitan)?

  17. sunbyrne says:

Same problem as multiple others: queue is always paused, even though app is running. Bummer, I was hoping this would actually replace CUPS-PDF under Yosemite. Guess not.

  18. Roger says:

VipRiser does not work or even completely install under El Capitan. I could not use it. Had to go back to PDFWriter

  19. granneman says:

Great software, but how do I tell VipRiser *not* to print URLs after links in webpages?
